First Meeting of Board of Studies, Centre for Arabic & Islamic Studies, Women University, Swabi

Meeting of the Academic Council The first meeting of Board of Studies, Centre for Arabic & Islamic Studies of the University was held and chaired by honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khanzadi Fatima Khattak. The meeting was attended by Dr. Dost Muhammad, Ex. Director, Sheikh Zaid Islamic Centre Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Yaqoob Khan Marwat, Chairman Department of Arabic, University of Peshawar, Dr. Ahmad Hassan Khattak, Assistant Professor / Head of Centre for Arabic & Islamic Studies, Women university Swabi, Prof. Dr. Saeed Anwar, Advisor Academic and Research, Women University Swabi, Dr. Gulnaz Parveen Add. Director Academics, Women University Swabi, Dr. Shams Ul Hussain, Assistant Professor, The Centre for Arabic & Islamic Studies, Women university Swabi, Dr. Adeeba Siddiqui, Ex. Head of Department Islamic Studies, Women University Swabi, Ms. Sadna Zaib, Lecturer, The Centre for Arabic & Islamic Studies, Women university Swabi and Ms. Maryam Hamid, Lecturer, Centre for Arabic & Islamic Studies, Women university Swabi. In the meeting, course contents, curricula, scheme of studies for programs were recommended. The board advised some new subjects like Globalization, Establishment of Peace, Orientalism, Family & Inheritance Laws of Islam, Islamic Epistemology & Islamization of knowledge, A Comparative Study of Islamic and Western thought, Contemporary Problems of Islamic Economics, Social Welfare System in Islam, Islamic Morals, Ethics of Disagreement in Islam and Islam in Diaspora and some more relevant to Islamic Studies and Arabic. The chair urged the department to assure quality education and research. She said that these are our top most priorities and we should work as team to promote higher education and women empowerment. She further added that real progress of the nations depends on the quality of education, ethical values and innovative skills which we impart to our young generations.
