A Two-Day Social Work Activity, Organized by Department of Art, Design and Cultural Studies

Department of Art , Design and Cultural studies The Department of Art, Design and Cultural Studies has arranged a two-day social work activity. The students of Department of Art, Design and Cultural Studies invited special students (blind) from Government Blind Institute, Swabi and spent whole days with them. The students taught them paper art (origami), clay art and many other craft skills. The major purpose of these skills was to improvise the special children and feel them more confident and useful citizens. For this event, the main hall of the University was decorated by the students of the Department of Art, Design and Cultural Studies. They decorated the hall in such a way that blind students could touch the decorations and feel pleasure. The students showed great enthusiasm and anticipation for this activity. A lunch was also arranged for them. Special children were very happy and took part in all activities. Second day was also full of excitement and gratification. The worthy Vice Chancellor visited the Department of Art, Design and Cultural Studies and spent her time with the Special Children. She talked with them very friendly and listened poems from the special children. She appreciated them and offered the grounds of the University to play. She said that special children are part of us and it is our moral duty to own them and be the reason of their smiles, confidence and advantageous life. She announced that the University will invite them regularly on different events. At the end of the event, she distributed gifts among Special Children. She lauded the students and faculty of the Department of Art, Design and Cultural studies for arranging a special event for special children.
